PSA - Gleason Score - Brachyotherapy - Radiation - Prostatectomy - Testosterone
Things I learned the meaning and importance of.

Is there a man you care about over the age of 40 in your family or circle of friends?  I know there is.  As embarassing as it may be, please call them, text them, email them, write them a letter, or just have a conversation with them and  ask them to speak to their doctor about taking a PSA test. It's a simple blood test that measures the Prostate-specific antigen. It helps men catch prostrate inflammation and/or cancer.  If all is well it ends (no pun inteded) there.  If they have a high PSA score - then further testing may be required.  I have personal experience with what happens when you don't get checked regularly.  My husband went from 5.4 to 9.2 in less than 2 years.  He had a negative biopsy - and then 2 years later a prognosis of aggressive prostate cancer.  He is just beginning treatment, including hormone therapy and tomotherapy and this will be our story.
